Dykes on Bikes...San Francisco LGBT needs funds! White Knight where are u?

One of the highlights of Gay Pride revs up when a rag-tag gang of “Dykes on Bikes” kick off a parade with an in-your-face motorcade (and a gaggle of spritely-decorated floats that drift by featuring a posse of boy-toys touting the local watering holes in their midst) on Santa Monica Boulevard each year in trendy West Hollywood.

In fact, when forty-or-so hot-to-trot lesbians punch the air with their fists - as they roar down the strip on their beautifully-tooled motorcycles in a myriad of rainbow colors (mostly Harley Davidson’s) – it is quite a sight to behold!

Unfortunately, a similar celebration for the Lesbian Community in San Francisco may have to be cut back because of a lack of funds.

Whoa Nellie!

That’s a bummer!

Because the annual street celebration usually tosses the spotlight on that sector and their tireless efforts in the community, this is the one occasion when folks have a golden opportunity to stop and think about the real contributions gay women make in the overall scheme of things.

Bottom line?

Unless $30,000.00 is raised to cover the cost of the event, the organizers may have to eliminate entertainment, charge a cover (fee) at Dolores Park where the par-tay is held, or cancel the event altogether.

A decrease in grants and a subsequent increase in costs have accounted for the shortfall in funds.

In my humble opinion, the “Dyke” soiree is in dire need of a “White Knight” or two.

With that in mind, please note that donations may be made at the following link, eh?

Hot ticket at Gay Pride!

San Francisco...plaid shirts! Tongues heard wagging in Castro District!

Rugged-looking plaid shirt always in Vogue!

According to the scuttlebutt, life is a bitch for shoppers out for a bargain in second-hand shops in the Castro District (affectionately known to the locals as gay gulch).
For starters, dudes are SOL if they trot into "Out of the Closet" or "Goodwill" stores, especially when it comes to rugged street wear with masculine appeal.

"All the plaid shirts have been snatched up by the Dykes," one disgruntled fashionista grumbled to a buddy just this afternoon on Market Street.

Of course, now that John Gallianos is on the "outs" with Dior, it's wholly possible that there may be an influx of stylish threads showing up on the racks in coming days.

Caution, guys!

Delicately remove the labels, or you may be accused of being a Nazi sympathizer!

Ouch!
