Is it just me, or does the new iTunes logo look horrible in the dock? It doesnt seem to match anything, and it just doesnt look as "clean" as the typical dock logos have been/should be. When i went to click iTunes for the first time and it changed from the nice/clean green logo to this blue cheesy looking 1995 icon, I was pretty surprised!
it doesn't look right to me. The icon seems HUGE, it seems like the used every single pixel available to them while other icons were allowed to breathe.
Check it..

I heard that from someone else, I tried it but that's referring to the amount of times it repeats. If you don't respond it will repeat that many times until you do. This issue is the double vibrate right when you get the text. I can see how people like it, but it's just annoying for me. My emails and texts are usually in the same importance level and I need to respond to either of them ASAP. It just feels weird and kinda wish they had the option. Oh well. Maybe in 4.3.2

I don't like the dark grey sliders.
Same with me. Why did they have to get rid of the Aqua style interface? I loved the glassy look before. But besides that, I love iTunes 7! :D

It doesn't matter what anyone thinks of the technology personally. It's FACTUALLY an integrated part of the web these days. It needs support on iPhone. Period.

Maybe they're waiting for HSPA+ to become more widespread. As it stands, only a few major cities have the expanded backhaul
That's just the U.S. and specifically AT&T lagging.
The rest of the world has built out their HSPA+ networks and many of them have upgraded speeds a couple of times.

Apple could probably produce a 500gb classic without much of a price difference. Anybody tried upgrading one or putting an HD in a touch?
I doubt it if 220GB HDD is the biggest this small HDD available currently

No way I'm going to do this update. This will not benefit me in any way whatsoever. At most, it'll ignore any "true" problem and not shut down when necessary...
Isn't everyone assuming here that the root problem is a heatsink issue? Has Apple ever announced that it was? Perhaps it isn't at all, or that's only part of the equation, and it is in fact an SMC control problem. There's a lot of FUD here - people saying they've had extra screws drilled in their MacBooks which is total BS.
I wouldn't try second-guessing Apple engineers. If they've released an update recommended to make the MacBook more reliable, I say use it.

I know perfectly well who Bach is (and, in fact, who Bach were) and comparing him with the Beatles is musical stupidity at his best.
If my dad happened to have met John Lennon in Liverpool, he could have been in the Beatles too. Overhyped experimental infants who gave the world a little over five decent songs.
So has Madonna.
Wow. Just, Wow!
I agree with the previous poster who said that The Beatles are underrated. I didn't think they were but i do now.

My point is, the ping-pong effect, when it was used, was deliberate. It does sound strange now, but I remember when these albums came out people listened to them on headphones and thought the effect was cool.
I'm no Beatles historian by any means, but correct me if I'm wrong: weren't the first albums recorded in mono? The stereo versions were later, rather crude simulations of stereo, which is why they never made it to CD.
Yes the first albums were mixed primarily in MONO. Stereo was an afterthought at the time until Hep and really Rubber Soul and Revolver. The old CDs from 1986 have never been ugraded but if you listened to the Yellow Submarine SONGTRACK and now LOVE, you can hear beautiful remixed and remasterd versions that are so very modern. Those old CDs were crap. The Vinyl versions are so much better.

I know we've overdosed on speculation recently, but the MacRumors live transcript from the keynote today contained the following line (from Steve I believe):
10:24 am lots more announcements during the next week
best to just wait and see......
I thought that was for the Universal Binary third party - not Apple's.

So if the market is down as a whole, and one manufacture is up, that one manufacturer is definitely doing something right.
Apple isn't the only manufacturer that is up, Toshiba's share also grew.

But you are not required to upgrade OS X all the time. Hmmmm, maybe some people should start to look at Linux by now. With Ubuntu folks could get two upgrades every year, and they are 100% free :).
That's true. If you skip a OS X release, you're still fine. Skip Vista and you'll probably be a decade behind at some point. But it's almost a given to purchase OS upgrades whenever given (as long as some major features are given) because your entire working environment is in the OS. Anyways, I think it's just important to view a Vista purchase as being the equivalent of at least two OS X releases, so saying that Vista is $239 and OS X is $129 - and thus, that Vista is more expensive - is not completely true.
I'm afraid to touch Linux :( I don't even know what it looks like, how it works, or what runs on it.

But it's also stupid because it rewards Brazil for its aggressive mercantilist policies. Other countries, particularly in Latin America, are likely to take note and follow. In fact, they'll be foolish if they don't.
So now Brazil is the one having "aggressive mercantilist policies"?
Why don't you talk about the US's egregiously illegal subsidies to its orange juice, steel and ethanol industries against Brazilian imports of the same products?
In case you don't know about them, just check WTO's website to see the rulings AND appeals that the US has continuously lost against Brazil. Or is it nice to have "free markets" only when you benefit from them?

Owning software /= professional. Skill and natural talent for editing make you a professional. A real pro can cut footage on any system, any piece of software and doesn't rely on apps to do it for them. It's a tool that they use to do what they do faster and more efficiently so they can maximize their time/profits.

Apple won't sell a suite (there are no suites in the App Store). Look at iWork - just individual apps for purchase. They'll probably charge $299 for FCP and $99/each for the other apps, or have it all rolled up into Final Cut Pro.
I just wonder if there is any upgrade pricing strategy. No matter what - $299 is A STEAL!

How do they know these things? At any rate the stores are down. Exciting stuff but i bet this thread gets more negatives than positives.

Apple's decision to mix-up their refreshment cycles NOW burns me. I have been looking forward--for once--to upgrading my device at around the time the newest iPhone hits the market, and when I finally get the chance to do it, Apple (potentially) shifts the cycle. Not cool with me.
ME ME ME ME! because you want a new phone when you want it, apple sucks? geeze what are we, 12?

Surely Hard Drive players are on the way out in general? Must be a major reason for the devices to break.
I wonder what breaks more often, the hard drives fitted in the classic or the fragile touch screens of the iPod touch?
