Lady Gaga Makes Twitter History by Hitting 10 Million Mark.
Lady Gaga has 10 million reasons to throw her hands up in the air in celebration, and it's not because she found a new meat dress to wear. Rather, the wild pop star just became the most "followed" person on Twitter.
The singer's been keeping real busy, playing shows at the Cannes Film Festival and another in England over the weekend. But she wasn't so crammed as to not acknowledge her historic feat, fittingly taking to Twitter to express her joy: "10MillionMonsters! I'm speechless, we did it! It's an illness how I love you. Leaving London smiling." That's one serious monster army she's got herself.
To put this all into perspective, it should be noted that Justin Bieber, the second most "followed" person on Twitter, has about 500,000 less fans. Gaga also has roughly 5 million more followers than Shakira, who is currently the 10th most popular user, and 8 more million than Weird Al Yankovic, who squeezes in at the No. 99 spot, despite putting out a great Gaga cover.
