If you remember this cartoon then you are definitely my people. It was an early morning standard where I lived in Canada. I was full or ridiculous moments which included:
-the fact that bad guys allowed Herc to take all the time he needed to put on his ring of strength although they fully understood they would get their head bashed in when he did.
-the fact that he never wore the ring ALL THE TIME
-had a great theme song that anyone Canadian child could sing by heart
-one villain wore a magical bucket on his head called the 'Mask of Vulcan' and it made him invulnerable. He once worked all night to put the same magical mask on a herd of cows
-his two best friends were Newton and Toot, a pair of effeminate centaurs. One repeated himself all the time and the other only could only communicate with his flute.
-his girl was Helena who got kidnapped more times than Robin from Batman and Robin
-he was the muscle that support the Kingdom of Caladan and it's weak boy king.
